This is our one and only chance at mortal life- here and now. The longer we live, the greater is our realization that it is brief. I believe that among the greatest lessons we are to learn in this short sojourn upon the Earth are lessons that help us distinguish between what is important and what is not. I plead with you to not let those most important things pass you by. -President Thomas S. Monson
Hi There. Kelsey, thanks for sending me an invite to this blog. I was the one who called you to tell you about the accident. I believe I was also the first one to come to the van and talk to Shawn. I told him not to move and that help was coming. I asked him his name and was shocked, that with some effort, he was able to rouse and speak. I have to admit that I was a pessimist thinking that Shawn was only alive because of the adrenalin pumping through his body at the time. When I called you, I wanted to be hopeful but I didn't honestly know if he was going to last long. I was driving past Riverside Corner again today and couldn't help but go inside to inquire about his condition. I was thrilled to hear you were well on your way on the road to recovery. If I may share my little miracle with you... The day of the accident, I was on my way to Logan to take my baby to the doctor for his 6 month well check. I had stopped at Riverside Corner. When I saw the semi (the Peterbuilt} at the four way stop, I thought "I don't want to get behind that truck and 4 other cars for the rest of the way to Logan." But then I thought "What's the hurry?" and decided to wait before I pulled onto the highway. As tragic as it is for anybody to be involved, I can't help now but think that the Peterbuilt was able to handle the impact better than my Liberty with my 6 month old baby boy and 3 year old girl in the back seat. I am counting my blessings and so glad that you have been blessed with good news since then. May God continue to bless you on this journey. Stacie.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad McKell put this blog on her facebook page. Tyler and I hope Shawn recovers soon and he is in our thoughts and prayers!

I was part of the traffic diverted over the old dairy road to get to Logan after your accident and when I saw how many medical/emergency personel were being sent to the scene I called Layne and told him that the wreck he was going to get a page about didn't involve me.
ReplyDeleteOn the way home I saw the semi and the van and said a prayer in my heart for whoever was dealing with this tragedy. I had no idea who. We love you Shawn and we love your family! We have been thinking of you since the moment we found out it was you in that van. Layne & I would have been to see you by now if we could. (We're both sick with who knows what bug right now.) All our love to you and Kelsey and the rest of your Croney Family. We love you guys!
Hey you guys! Just wanted to drop a quick note to tell you both that we are thinking of you! Let us know when you get hungry for -TL. I would love to bring some down for ya! I will even wait on you... ;)
