another miracle

Sometime following the accident and after they had gotten Shawn onto Life Flight, someone handed my brother the Peterbilt symbol from the hood of Casey's truck. They had found it in the back of the van.

Shawn's brothers decided that they are going to make a trophy for him with this symbol.

The day following the accident, one of the highway patrolmen was speaking to Chris (Shawn's brother) and Chris mentioned that very thing. The trophy. It was at this point that the patrolman agreed, and then mentioned that he know if we understood the significance of that symbol. He told him that if you look closely at the windshield of the van, you can see that there is only one hole. One hole where this heavy, metal symbol must have flown through.

Once again we were reminded of something one of the emergency workers told Shawn's mom, "There are only two reasons why Shawn is alive. First, the airbag worked. Second, the Lord didn't want to take him home today."
